COMPANY      
Schweizer Design, LLC, formerly Schweizer Design Associates, is a full-service, interdisciplinary design firm established in Brooklyn, NY in 1987 and relocated to Dutchess County, NY in 2017. The firm is engaged in the planning and design of fine residential construction, interiors, furniture, and furnishings.


PRINCIPAL        

Swiss-born Martin Schweizer graduated from City of Zürich School of Art and
Design in interior and product design. He has worked in New York as a
consulting designer with Milton Glaser, Murry Gelberg, V. Lorenzo Porcelli and
Allen Lubow. He is certified by the National Council for Interior Design
Qualification since 1994.

            

All design and product development projects are executed by Martin Schweizer,
with the support of associates in specialized design and engineering disciplines
as individual projects require.

SERVICES                

Schweizer Design, LLC handles all aspects of residential interior design, including, space planning, traffic flow studies, wall and furniture layouts, custom kitchens and bathrooms, custom built-in woodwork, windows, doors and trims, custom furniture, lighting, window treatments, and others.

Service arrangements vary from single consultations to full spectrum project planning and management. Services are typically rendered directly to the end users, but also in collaboration with planning professionals in different fields, and to out-of-town design enterprises representing them locally.

The firm works methodically, proceeding from formulating design objectives in conjunction with the Client to developing conceptual and refined designs, assisting Client in choosing furniture, fixtures, equipment, materials and finishes, and producing detailed design drawings and specifications. Services also include coordinating the work of technical consultants, obtaining fabrication and construction cost estimates, assisting Client in selecting contractors, and conducting field inspections during fabrication and construction. 

 

The firm's broad exposure to architectural design, interior design and product design assignments has had a profound impact on its work. Through careful analysis of design opportunities and constraints, creative problem-solving and attention to detail, results are achieved that are both exciting and unique, yet sensible and focused on Client's needs. By keeping overhead costs low and by fully utilizing available resources, cost-effective designs are provided within budget.

            

Through ongoing communication and periodic presentations, the Client retains ultimate control of the project. Clients benefit by minimizing cost overruns and anxiety, while maximizing project quality and satisfaction with the final result.
